Wow! The day has come... Chris and I are leaving for Portland tomorrow morning. Our surrogate is coming up from her small town in southern Oregon tomorrow as well. The plan is to just wait it out in Portland until Hayden is born. If history is any indication, we could be expecting him ANY DAY NOW! She has always given birth a few weeks early and this week (between 36 and 37 weeks) seems to be the popular week for her. Because she'll be having a c-section (due to a past c-section) the latest he'll be born is sometime around Feb 17th! She really thinks it will be earlier than that though. She said that she's been having LOTS of contractions lately!
We just got the news that her train up to Portland is delayed for at least 5 or 6 hours! Evidently it derailed near LA (she doesn't get on until tomorrow so she wasn't on it when it derailed!). That's reassuring!! In any case it looks like she won't be getting there until late tomorrow night. Her whole family is coming with her for support!
Anyway -- we'll post just as soon as we have any new news!! We are SOOOO excited! Time to try to get some sleep!
