Day Four

I'm sitting here trying to figure out when Day Four began. It all starts to blur together after a while! You can't keep track of days by when you wake up and go to sleep anymore!

Hayden continues to thrill us and make us all so happy! Grandma is still here and she just loves to sit and just stare at Hayden as he sleeps!

Today his bloodwork came back and all looked good with one exception. He has Hypothyroidism. This means that his thyroid isn't producing enough hormone for his metabolism. This can make him sluggish amongst other things. The bad news is that people don't usually grow out of this. The good news is that there is a simple, once a day, pill that will provide the hormone and treat it effectively. He started the first of dose today. The other thing is that this could be one of the things contributing to his lack of energy for eating. After a couple days on the meds, we should see some improved energy!

A fun thing today is that Hayden is really getting the hang of opening his eyes! We haven't seen much of his eyes up til today. Now he just sits and stares at us!

The BEST news of the day was that Hayden got moved to the third stage in the NICU. This is the last stage before he is discharged. They still think it is going to be about another week, but being moved to the new room was a sign that he is making good progress!
